White House Garden Ex"seeds" Expectations

White House Releases Video About the Kitchen Garden Project As the first day of school for many students in the Washington area wound down, the White House released a more than seven minute-long Web video about the development of the White House kitchen garden and the role of students from Bancroft Elementary School in farming it.

First lady Michelle Obama helped break ground on a new White House organic "kitchen garden." It will be the first working garden at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. since Eleanor Roosevelt planted a so-called "victory garden" at the height of World War II. Read more here

Bird Watching is a huge American hobby.  Learn what you can add to your garden to attract more birds for your viewing enjoyment.  Join the super birding couple and Master Gardeners extraordinaire, Frank and Patty Hiller, as they share with your their experiences in the field of Bird Watching. 

All Noontime Knowledge classes are free of charge, but you must reserve a spot as the classes fill up quickly.  Please register by calling our Horticultural Program Assistant at 770-473-5434, by email at hortpa@uga.edu, or by filling out the form on the "Contact Us" page.  Please indicate the class you are interested in attending, as well as the number of attendees.
